If you are just traveling from any provinces in the Philippines, then there is no need for you to present a swab result or any medical certificate to enter Cebu City or Cebu Province. In addition, there is no need for you to be quarantined anymore. However, let us be vigilant and make sure to always follow health protocols wherever we go. Not just in Cebu, but any parts of the world.

We can’t wait to see you here in Cebu. Ciao!

What’s up! It’s been a long time since our last post here in our blog section and we decided to update you of the places in Cebu where you can visit once this pandemic is totally over.

As you may already know that tourism industry all over the world had to stop and people are banned from moving out of the country since the pandemic started, caused by the Coronavirus or the so called Covid-19, last March 16, 2020. This was the date when most of the tourists’ sites in Cebu were closed and when the Covid-19 was declared a global pandemic.

Well, it’s almost 2 years already and we must move on. Everyone should get vaccinated now because Cebu City and Cebu Provinces are now accepting local or domestic tourists if you are fully vaccinated, subject to terms and conditions, following IATF or the Inter-Agency Task Force health standards and protocols such as social distancing and wearing facemask.

So, here are some of the places that you can visit once this pandemic is over. Make this as your travel guide and share it to your friends. Let’s just remember that wherever we go, let’s all be a responsible “laagan” (the Cebuano term for traveler).

The very first thing that you might want to consider when you are in Cebu is to visit Bantayan Island. It is in the north of Cebu which is more than 100 kilometers from the City, and you must travel via ferry for an hour and a half to reach the island.

How to Get to Bantayan Island from Cebu City?

  • Via Taxi. There are some black taxis plying the city which can also drop you off in Hagnaya port to take the ferry to Bantayan island. July 12, 2020 – The local government unit of Moalboal just announced today on their Facebook post, that the municipality is now reopening the tour activities. The island hopping to Pescador island is now possible. New guidelines and health protocols have been set. This is after the Provincial Governor Gwen Garcia signed an Executive order (EO 20-A) last July 9, 2020 encouraging tourism-related activities to reopen and revive the economy that was lost due to the pandemic of coronavirus.

Here are some of the activities you can do in Moalboal:

Pescador island hopping – this is an activity that you should not miss. You just need to rent a boat or book a package from us. You will be able to see the beautiful corals in the island.

Sardine run – another activity in the municipality that you should not miss where you get the chance to swim with thousands of sardines in the area. You can do this after you visit Pescador island.

Turtle Chasing – just like Apo island in Negros, Moalboal is also known for the turtles which can be seen near their coast. Our package includes this activity.

Dolphin watching – if you are lucky enough, you will be able to see dolphins in the area. They are weather dependent. Most of the time, they will show up on your way to the Pescador island.

Swimming at Basdaku White Sand Beach – “basdaku” derives from the two Cebuano word “bas” which means sand & “daku” which means “big”. You will be amazed of how big this white sand beach is. The best time to visit is during sunny days (specially Summer season) where you can relax at the beach under the heat of the sun.

We just always wanted to remind the public to be safe when doing tour activities. Always follow health protocols and guidelines as mandated by the Department of Health (DOH), such as always wearing of mask, keep physical distancing and regularly washing of hands.

Make sure to follow our Facebook page for more updates. We will also let you know once the Oslob whale sharks will reopen.

If you want to visit Moalboal, you can book our package here.

The Department of Tourism in the Philippines is considering accepting guests and tourists from countries with low to zero Corovirus (Covid-19) cases. As of June 25, 2020, the are two countries they are eyeing to accept tourists from: Australia, with 37 active cases and New Zealand which only has 3 cases.

“Since zero COVID naman sila, we are looking at from their country to Boracay or Bohol na puwede na tayo magka-travel bubble or travel corridor so at least hindi lang tayo limited sa international tourism,” this is what the DOT Secretary Bernadette Puyat said in a briefing last Friday, June 26, 2020.

The country has 10 commercial international airports:

  • Metro Manila
  • Cebu
  • Clark Airport in Pampanga
  • Bohol
  • Davao City
  • General Santos City
  • Iloilo
  • Kalibo Airport in Aklan
  • Puerto Princesa
  • Zamboanga

If you are going to Boracay, then you can take the Kalibo International Airport. On the other hand if you want to go to Bohol, then they just had their International airport launched last year which is located in Panglao Bohol.

“If this goes well, we will finally be able to accept [tourists from] countries where [there is] practically zero or low cases of COVID,” Secretary Puyat said during the briefing.

Senator Sonny Angara said that these “travel bubbles” could be successful if the government is able to stop the spread of the virus. “We continue to record a lot of fresh cases daily and until we can bring these numbers down, confidence of tourists entering the country will be an issue,” the Senator added.

As of now, there are some international flights allowed going to the Philippines, but these are limited to repatriates and returning Filipinos from other countries.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will begin the construction the Metro Cebu Expressway this year. This will link Carcar City to Danao City with a total distance of 74 kilometer. my bus cebu tours

Getting in of the Mactan Cebu International Airport is not that difficult. It’s in getting out of the airport that is exactly the opposite. That is why you need to know a few options available.

SM My Bus. The fare is usually very affordable at a price of 25 pesos or (0.5USD). It will take an hour before you arrive at a designated place. Actually, this connects the airport to SM City Cebu, Park Mall in Mandaue and North Bus Terminal.

Ordinary Taxi/Airport. You may choose one of the cabs that are bound to Cebu. The flag-down is 1 USD or 40Php and 3.50Php additional for each 300meters. These are the rates for an ordinary taxi. For yellow or airport taxis, you usually need to pay 40Php and 70Php.

Grab. It’s good to know that Grab and Uber are to be found in Cebu. You won’t worry about being overcharged or scammed. However, there will usually be a surcharge during the peak hours.

Rent-a-Car. At the arrival gate, you will see cars that are parked around or booth of car rental companies. They will convince you to get their service. Be ready to pay them about 500 Philippines’ peso to 1000 Philippines’ peso. It usually varies by destination.

Going Everywhere in Cebu

It is actually very easy to commute in Cebu provided that you know the jeepney routes. The jeepneys are usually labeled with a letter and a number. The number specifies the number of different avenues or streets and the route. Taxis are to be found everywhere. The drivers are friendlier than the ones to find in Manila. Even if your change is just one peso, it will still be returned to you. If you go to Cebu in a group, look for the car or van rentals. The rate for an 8-hour tour is usually at the range of Php 3,500 to Php 6, 500, depending on the usage.. The rates will include the gas, driver, and car use.

Going the Northern/Southern Part of Cebu

When going to the northern or southern part of Cebu, heading to the bus terminals is a must. However, public buses are nowhere to be found in the main places of Cebu City. Your group can choose to go to the North Bus Terminal. This is especially when heading to Malapascua Island, Camotes Islands, and Bantayan Island.

When going to the South Bus Terminal, it means to say that you’re going to Carcar, Dalaguete, Samboan, Badian, Moalboal and Oslob. There are some other towns in the south but not most of the tourists are going.
